Finished Brother Odd - On to Lisey’s Story!

Posted in My Reviews, Popular Audio Books by Admin on December 18th, 2006

Download Lisey's Story Audio Book by Stephen KingWell, I’ve finished Brother Odd (by Dean Koontz). I wish it were a little bit longer, as the story was exceptionally well thought out and read.

Do not fear! I’ve already downloaded the second audio book I’ve been wanting to listen to: Lisey’s Story, by Stephen King. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about this one, and so I’m eager to see what it’s all about. Of course, as soon as I’m finished with it, I’ll throw a little blurb about what I thought on this blog.

Listen along to Stephen King’s Lisey’s Story if you feel up to it!

Want to Contribute to the AudioBookGeek.com Blog?

Posted in AudioBookGeek.com News, User Review Contributions by Admin on December 15th, 2006

Have you listened to any audio books lately? Or have you had any experience with audio book sites that you’d like to share with us?

If you feel up to it, write a brief article (no more than 1000 words please) about a recent audio book you’ve read, or experience you’ve had with an audio book site. Simply send us a copy of the article with the following information:

1) Your name, or alias

2) An email address

3) A link to your site (with whatever link text that you’d like to use for the link).

As long as it is a well-written article, we’ll be happy to post it on our blog! What’s in it for you? Not too much, other than a good link back to your web site, and having many people reading what you have to say (feel free to link back the article from your site, if you desire to do so). We’ll all benefit from audio book reviews - I know I would, especially if it’s an audio book I haven’t listened to yet, or are planning to listen to soon.

If you’re interested, simply let us know, or send the completed post to admin@audiobookgeek.com.

Big thanks from the team at AudioBookGeek.com!

Brother Odd - What I’m Currently Enjoying!

Posted in Featured Audio Book, My Reviews, Popular Audio Books by Admin on December 14th, 2006

Dean Koontz Brother Odd Audio Book DownloadFor those of you that enjoy Dean Koontz and his audio books, and enjoyed the first two Odd Thomas audio book series, then you’re likely to enjoy his latest installment of the Odd Thomas series: Brother Odd.

This book, up to this point (which is right about half way now), seems to be better than the first two audio books so far.

Oddie’s little adventure is one of the most unique ways an author has ever written. The combination of absolute humor, detective work, and a bit of sci-fi and horror, really makes this story a mind blower.

If you haven’t started it yet, or aren’t planning to, then change your mind! Hurry and download it today, so that you enjoy the same experiences that I’m enjoying now.

Eragon - The Movie is Just Around the Corner

Posted in AudioBookGeek.com News, My Reviews, Popular Audio Books by Admin on December 10th, 2006

Download Eragon Audio BookFor those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy the Eragon audio books, you now only have 6 days before the movie is released (December 15th).

So what, you’re thinking. Well, of the posts I’ve written in the past regarding this series, I can’t help but marvel at the fact that this bestselling series is written by none other than a 15 year old (well, actually a bit older now since book one). Christopher Paolini is the Wonder Kid behind Eragon - The Inheritance Trilogy, having sold countless copies, and now set to make a fortune from a sure-to-be-popular movie.

Although the theme of the book might seem awfully familiar (especially to those who enjoyed Lord of The Rings), it still doesn’t fail to set the imagination on fire!

Take it from one avid reader - if you haven’t listened to this series, you should, especially if you plan to watch the movie. It’s an enjoyable experience. For those of you who have read/listened, feel free to comment on what you thought about it.

Be Prepared for Greatness!

Posted in AudioBookGeek.com News by Admin on December 8th, 2006

Well, welcome to our first audiobookgeek.com blog entry! After what must have seemed like decades (just a couple of days actually), we finally decided to throw a blog in the audiobookgeek.com mix.

Why? Good question! For one thing, it’ll keep this site a little more up-to-date and a bit more dynamic - instead of listing products and deals all of the time. Second, since we are super-avid followers of audio books (if you haven’t tried an audio book yet, you have no idea what you’re missing out on), we decided to give ourselves an outlet to express our love of these audio treasures. We intend to only post material that’s related to audio books, in one way or another. This might include: reviews, news, deals, did-you-know’s, and well, a plethora of other things.

How does that sound? We hope it turns out well, and most importantly, you end up liking it!

Stick around, good things are around the corner!

P.S. And if you’re not a member of Audible.com yet, well, shameeeee. We’ll give you a second chance, and allow you to sign up here. Do so, and download three free audio books, risk-free!
